Who signed best between Downs, Pirates & Chiefs?
by Thato Bosoga · KickOffAfter the PSL transfer window officially closed on Monday night, KICK OFF made a wrap of the signings made by rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
Mamelodi Sundowns
Sundowns had two emergency signings at right-back, Thabang Matuludi (from Polokwane City) and Deano Van Rooyen (free agent), following the injury of Khuliso Mudau while The Brazilians also added midfielder Thabo Cele, who was also free, to add depth in midfield following the passing of Jayden Adams.

Bringing back international experience back home are Antonio Van Wyk and Cassius Mailula, both coming from SV Ried and Toronto, respectively. Siyanda Ndlovu's signing from Golden Arrows also came with fanfare, while Tsiki Ntsabeleng’s initial loan move was made permanent.
Wandile Dube also joined on transfer deadline day, bringing the number of new signings to eight (including Ntsabeleng).
Orlando Pirates
Pirates were the busiest of three rivals, after making 13 new signings, excluding players they have promoted from the DStv Diski Challenge side, Mpho Padime and Simphiwe Masilela.
Ghampani Lungu (from Siwelele), Mthetheleli Mthiyane (Stellenbosch) and Thapelo Mokobodi (Stellenbosch) have made an immediate impact at The Buccaneers while the likes of Sbangani Zulu (Richards Bay) and Neo Rapoo (Siwelele) are still finding their feet.
The re-signing of Mohau Nkota, on loan from Al-Ettifaq, raised the bar. (other signings are: Bulelani Sigomoshe (Milford), Matome Mmolai (Leicesterford City), Sebastian Pedersen (Sogndal), Aphiwe Biliti (Siwelele), Bheki Mabuza (Marumo Gallants) and goalkeeper Dublin Boon (Stellenbosch).
Kaizer Chiefs
Chiefs were the quietest, making only five new additions to their roster, after acquiring Thabo Moloisane as a free agent, goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner on a free, while they made two transfers for Langelihle Phili, their marquee signing from Stellenbosch and Adolf Bitegeko from Azam.
Amakhosi also signed Faiz Abrahams on loan from Stellenbosch and also made a permanent signing of Khanyisa Mayo who was on loan from CR Belouizdad last season.
