Downs' Khoza names toughest opponent: Only one that gave me problems

In an exclusive interview published in the September edition of KICK OFF, Khoza named current Kruger United forward Wonderboy Makhubu as his toughest opponent in local football.

The 22-year-old rock-solid centre-back is widely seen as a future Bafana Bafana star after picking up the Man of the Match award in Masandawana's recent dominant 3-0 victory against Siwelele FC. Khoza has quickly become a defensive pillar for the reigning Betway Premiership champions.
The Chloorkop prodigy opened up about his on-field battles with Makhubu, noting how difficult the 29-year-old striker is to mark. The two previously went toe-to-toe in intense domestic encounters, particularly when Makhubu represented Magesi FC and Stellenbosch FC before his recent loan move to newly promoted Kruger.
"It’s Wonderboy Makhubu. I think that’s the only player I would say he gave me problems," detailed Khoza.
"He is everywhere; he wins balls everywhere. He is a big guy, and he is quick with his feet as well. He can hold the ball. It’s very difficult to play against i striker esinjalo (a striker like that)."

Meanwhile, Masandawana are shifting focus entirely to preparation for the next match against Chippa United at Buffalo City Stadium on Saturday.
With Pitso Mosimane having officially taken over Bafana Bafana, Khoza will undoubtedly be keeping one eye on proceedings in the national team as he targets a recall following his latest preliminary squad exclusion.
