Big gun left out of new Senegal squad
by KickOff Reporter · KickOffNew Senegal coach Patrick Vieira has named his first squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers Mozambique and Ethiopia.
The Arsenal legend was officially confirmed the new coach of the Lions Of Teranga last month following the departure of Pape Thiaw after the team's Last 32 exit at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Vieria has not sprung any surprises, but he has left Sadio Mane out of the squad due to injury.
However, fellow seasoned internationals have kept their place in the squad, including Kalidou Koulibaly, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Pape Alassane Gueye and Pape Matar Sarr.
Vieria has also have given call-ups to Malang Sarr, Lamine Sy and Sadibou Sané.
Senegal will also have a friendly against Comoros on 4 October in France.
