We Wish You a Very Merry Christmas

Compliments of the season to you

by · Push Square

Whether you celebrate it or not, the thing that’s so great about Christmas is that it gives you an opportunity to take stock. With offices closed and the games industry in a very brief slumber, we finally have the opportunity to reflect on the past 12 months as a whole.

And despite the scepticism and cynicism you’ll read online, it’s been a brilliant 2025 for PS5 in our opinion. The sheer number of games – something we take for granted these days – has been unfathomable, so many of them deserving recognition in a variety of different ways.

As you read this, our big Game of the Year wrap-up will be well underway, and we sincerely hope you’ll enjoy all the content and commentary we’ve prepared for you. While it’s a lot of work for us on the editorial side, we always really enjoy putting together a festive spread for you to gorge on while the industry is taking a bit of a break.

Of course, we wouldn’t get the opportunity to do any of this without you, our readers – and honestly, your input and opinions are more important than ever before. With changes to the way search engines work and an overall malaise around gaming media in general, your support is genuinely helping us keep the lights on right now.

But much like the relatable squadron in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, we continue. This brief moment of respite will only last a few short days, as we plunge ourselves into the abyss of 2026 and a release schedule that frankly looks unfathomable right now. (Seriously, cast a glance ahead at February’s upcoming PS5 games.)

Enjoy your turkey, gammon, or nut roast today. Spend time with family, smile, and hopefully put some time into your PS5. (Whether you’ve received a new one, as a gift, or have been there since day one.)

We’re not going anywhere over the break – as alluded to above, we have so much end of year content to share with you – so we sincerely hope you’ll enjoy reading it all, and then we’ll be ready to pick things up in the New Year.

The first game on our agenda? Code Violet on 10th January. The fun never stops.

Merry Christmas!
