Golden Knights defeat Sharks in shootout, move to 2-0 in preseason

The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in a shootout at SAP Center on Tuesday.

Forwards Matyas Sapovaliv and Braeden Bowman scored in the shootout, as the Knights improved to 2-0 on the preseason.

Forward Alexander Holtz tied it 1-1 at 8:22 of the third period, answering San Jose’s opening goal from forward Michael Misa at 4:18.

Goaltender Carter Hart made 28 saves in his first start of the preseason, outdueling San Jose’s Yaroslav Askarov and his 22-save effort.
