Nevada Preps Girls Athlete of the Week: The Meadows’ Piper Kennedy

Update, Sept. 25: Congratulations to Piper Kennedy of The Meadows girls volleyball for being voted the Las Vegas Review-Journal girls Prep Athlete of the Week.

Piper Kennedy, The Meadows volleyball 67.9% (1,080 votes)

Abby Bunyan, Faith Lutheran volleyball 13.7% (218 votes)

Sophia Aragon, Sierra Vista soccer 13.5% (215 votes)

Leah Luna, Las Vegas High soccer 4.8% (77 votes)

It’s time to vote for the Nevada Preps girls prep athlete of the week.

This week’s poll features four players who posted standout performances during the week of Sept. 14-19.

Voting will close at noon on Thursday. Results will be reported on Friday.

Here are this week’s nominees:

Sophia Aragon, Sierra Vista soccer: The senior had three goals and three assists Thursday to help the Mountain Lions blow out Losee 11-0. The UNR commit has 14 goals and a team-leading 15 assists for a combined 43 points this season.

Abby Bunyan, Faith Lutheran volleyball: The sophomore finished with 26 kills and 16 digs in the Crusaders’ four-set victory over Palo Verde on Wednesday. The 2025 All-Southern Nevada First Team outside hitter leads Faith Lutheran with 223 kills this season.

Piper Kennedy, The Meadows volleyball: The senior logged 16 kills, six digs and three aces to lead the Mustangs to a straight-set win over Virgin Valley on Wednesday. The two-time All-State 3A MVP leads her team with 156 kills and 45 service aces this season.

Leah Luna, Las Vegas High soccer: The junior scored all three of the Wildcats’ goals in Thursday’s 3-1 victory over Sunrise Mountain. The standout forward has eight goals for 16 points this season.
