Golden Knights bringing back Jonas Rondbjerg on 1-year deal

The Vegas Golden Knights are re-signing winger Jonas Rondbjerg to a one-year deal, a source confirmed to the Review-Journal on Wednesday.

Rondbjerg, 27, is signing a two-way contract, paving way for the longtime Henderson Silver Knight to return to the AHL side when the dust settles.

The Danish-born player is the last remaining player from the Knights’ inaugural entry draft class in 2017 as a third-round pick (No. 85 overall). He was an unrestricted free agent.

Rondbjerg had 26 points in 43 games with Henderson last season, but his season was derailed by a lower-body injury in February while skating as an NHL call-up.

That injury took Rondbjerg away from representing Denmark in the Winter Olympics.

When at the NHL level, Rondbjerg has been a fourth-line winger and been trusted on the penalty kill. He’ll be in the conversation for a fourth-line role come training camp.
