Alison Hammond has finally responded to speculation that she is set to appear on the second season of Celebrity Traitors.

The TV host was among the big stars rumoured to be in talks with producers to join the BBC reality gameshow.

However, speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, the 51-year-old confessed: “I can’t do it because I’m doing Bake Off.”

“I think it’s the same time when I’m doing Bake Off, so that’s a definite no,” she added.

She continued: “I’m so sorry, I would love to do that. I wouldn’t want to be a traitor though, I’d want to be a faithful. I don’t want no stress.”

In the first season, Alan Carr went all the way, convincing the Faithfuls he was one of them, before taking all the money at the end, revealing himself as a Traitor from the beginning.

The comments come after it was reported that bosses are trying to tempt Hugh Grant to join the show after national treasures Stephen Fry and actress Celia Imrie were huge successes in the first series.

A TV insider told The Sun: “They know landing Hugh would be a huge coup but think he would be a brilliant addition.”

“Bosses are determined not to get the same tired reality stars who sign up to every series going.”

The Bridget Jones star previously confessed he’d rather go on Strictly Come Dancing than any other reality show, saying: “That’s my secret fantasy.”

The BBC told The Sun: “We aren’t commenting on speculation and details for The Celebrity Traitors series two will be announced in due course.”

Other stars rumoured to appear on the next series of The Celebrity Traitors include Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, Gavin & Stacey’s Ruth Jones, comedian and actress Daisy May Cooper, and League of Gentlemen star Steve Pemberton.
