Kemar Roofe reveals 'ambition' as he launches new plan after Derby County exit

by · Derbyshire Live

Former Derby County striker Kemar Roofe has launched his own football academy as he waits on his next move.

The striker had been training with the Rams this summer after joining them for pre-season training until an injury against Walsall left him on the sidelines.

Roofe had joined Derby as a free agent last season and made a big impression on the dressing room despite limited playing time as the Rams battled for Championship survival.

He was released at the end of last season, but head coach John Eustace was keen to invite him to training this summer to help him get back on the road to fitness.

But while he awaits his next move, Roofe has been busy setting up the "all-inclusive" Roofe academy which is based in Walsall and the Birmingham area.

"My ambition is that the Roofe Academy becomes a home for young footballers from all walks of life and a real hub for talent, providing a creative, nurturing and positive environment that enables players to really share my love and passion for the game," he said.

The Roofe academy aims to provide the highest quality training environment for young people to thrive.

It offers a bespoke coaching programme, a focus on individual development, a first-class training environment and a 360° approach.

Roofe has plenty to offer the next generation of young talent, having had an excellent career.

Capped five times by Jamaica, he has won the Scottish Premier League title with Rangers and he also played football in Europe with Belgian side Anderlecht.

Roofe has a coaching team in place that is dedicated to nurturing young talent in a bid to help pave the way for young people to realise and achieve their full potential.
