Washington Huskies land talented cornerback Emmanuel Karnley in transfer portal

by · The Seattle Times

Emmanuel Karnley, a 6-foot-3, 184-pound cornerback who most recently played at Virginia, is reportedly expected to sign with Washington, according to 247Sports national recruiting editor Brandon Huffman. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Karnley started his collegiate career with current UW coach Jedd Fisch and cornerbacks coach John Richardson at Arizona in 2023. He transferred to Miami during the winter transfer portal before the 2025 season, but reentered the portal during the now-defunct spring transfer portal to end up at Virginia.

The Antioch, Calif., native made 10 starts and played in 14 games for the Cavaliers. He tallied 26 tackles, two tackles for a loss, eight pass breakups and an interception in 2025, all career-high marks.
