Questions still swirl around Green Line's future, including how to get it through downtown

While a revised Green Line could be salvaged, plenty of uncertainty still hangs over the multibillion-dollar transit project — particularly how it will extend through the downtown core.

Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek and Alberta Transportation Minister Devin Dreeshen issued a joint statement Thursday that after weeks of productive conversations, the city and provincial government have agreed to retain several Green Line contracts, allowing design work to continue along the southeast segment of the future CTrain from 4th Street S.E. to Shepard, near 130th Ave. S.E.
