Splatoon Raiders rated by PEGI, suggests imminent release
· My Nintendo NewsNintendo has updated the official EU eShop listing for Splatoon Raiders, adding a “PEGI 7” age rating classification to the upcoming Switch 2 exclusive. As spotted by a Splatoon superfan on Twitter/X, and then independently verified by us using the Wayback Machine, the webpage only displayed a “TBD” rating as recently as 1st April, confirming that this is a very recent change. Although PEGI has not added the game to their own website yet, Nintendo has indeed added the age rating to theirs, whether intended or not. Unless it’s some kind of technical error, this means we should be receiving more information about the game very soon, as age ratings only happen when development is nearing completion.
When the Splatoon spin-off was first announced last summer, you may remember there was speculation that the game was already rated by ESRB/PEGI, suggesting an imminent release. However, that one was a false alarm, as the rating spotted turned out to be intended for Splatoon 3, which was featured in the same trailer as the Splatoon Raiders reveal. But nearly a year later, it’s happening for real.
