Broadcaster Amol Rajan is reportedly the latest star to sign up for series two of Celebrity Traitors after host Claudia Winkleman confirmed the line-up is secured.

As a journalist of 20 years, Amol, 42, is used to grilling public figures and getting to the truth - and as he University Challenge host he is an academic whizz.

Now it is being reported he could bring his journalistic talents to the second series of the wildly popular Celebrity Traitors.

A source told The Sun that securing Amol for the show is a 'massive coup' and bosses think he will be good at sniffing out the Traitors.

'He is used to holding the country's sharpest minds to account and spotting a lie from a mile away on the Today programme,' the source said.

'Producers know he won't be easily fooled by his fellow celebrities. He has the perfect poker face and the academic brains to go all the way, whether Claudia taps him on the shoulder to be a Traitor or leaves him as a Faithful.'

The Daily Mail has contacted the BBC and representatives for Amol for comment.

Elsewhere on Friday, it was reported that Welsh acting royalty Michael Sheen has also signed up, having been an expert in playing 'a string of lying and scheming' characters'.

The Welsh actor, 57, portrayed former Prince Andrew in the 2024 Amazon Prime Video three-parter A Very Royal Scandal.

So it's no doubt Celebrity Traitors will be a breeze for Michael, thanks to his trusty acting skills.

A source told The Sun: 'Michael has had a lot of practice playing lying, duplicitous and scheming men - the Traitors should be a breeze.

'He is very much seen as a 'big dog' signing. Behind the scenes, everyone is hugely excited. Michael is a massive fan of the show so it makes total sense that he would want to be a part of it.

'This year's show has some incredible names, a real blend of characters, and promises to be incredible.'

A BBC Spokesperson said: 'We aren't commenting on speculation and details for The Celebrity Traitors series two will be announced in due course.'

Host Claudia Winkleman revealed on Thursday that the line-up for Celebrity Traitors series two has been secured - and she was left gobsmacked when she saw the names.

The BBC's star-studded spinoff first aired in late 2025, with comedian Alan Carr winning as a Traitor.

On Wednesday, Claudia appeared on The One Show to promote her newly launched BBC chat show.

She was asked whether more 'big dogs' were set for Celebrity Traitors, following the big names from series one.

Claudia replied: 'There certainly are.

'The people who make it are extraordinary and they had to repeat the people twice to me because I was like, "Huh, are you joking? Come again". So, we’re incredibly lucky.'

During the conversation, Claudia addressed whether famous faces were lining up to enter the castle - after the success of the first Celebrity Traitors.

She said: 'Yeah, I hope so. We’re so grateful that people want to come and play the game.

'And the people who said yes for series one, I still can't believe it. I was shaking when you see Stephen Fry walking around the castle and Alan Carr, Ruth Codd, all of these people I was obsessed by.

'I’m very excited. But I can't say anything else, don’t make eye contact with me.'
