Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's Range Rover seen at new Sandringham home
by DAN WOODLAND, NEWS REPORTER · Mail OnlineAndrew Mountbatten Windsor's car has been spotted making an off-road detour while travelling to his new permanent residence on the Sandringham estate today.
The disgraced ex-Duke's green Range Rover, which Andrew has often been seen driving in Windsor, made the short journey from Marsh Farm, which is set to be his new home after being kicked out of the Royal Lodge last year.
Despite the driver's efforts to remain incognito, the car was photographed leaving Wood Farm, where he has been living for the past 10 days, on Thursday.
The 4x4 could have driven down the main drive to Marsh Farm, which is only about 400 metres away, but it made a one-mile detour across fields and bumpy tracks - seemingly to avoid being seen.
Andrew's security were also spotted inside the five-bedroom home, where they were seen taking photos of the media as they were waiting outside.
It is not know if Andrew was in the car and going to inspect his new property, which he is expected to move into around April as it is currently being renovated.
His car was last spotted leaving Wood Farm around a week ago when it was driven by a member of his security team, but Andrew has not been seen since he moved in.
An insider said earlier in the week that Andrew is 'lonely and bored' and added that he can't even go out for a ride because his horses have not yet been moved up to Norfolk.
There is a paddock of horses next to Wood Farm, but Andrew appears to be waiting for his own before he ventures out riding in the new area.
Over the last 10 days builders vans, a digger and Portaloos have been seen going into the farm, where they are carrying out emergency security repairs.
The workmen are re-building around 20ft of an ancient perimeter wall which has collapsed.
A Waitrose van was spotted making a food delivery at the house last Friday and an Amazon delivery driver also dropped off a package over the weekend.
The former Royal is expected to remain at Wood Farm until around April when he is due to move to his new permanent home Marsh Farm which is around half a mile away.
Marsh Farm which is far less private than Wood Farm as it sits beside a private road is still undergoing extensive renovations to make it ready for Andrew to move in.
Both properties are privately owned by the King who inherited the 20,000-acre Sandringham estate from his late mother.
Sources had suggested that Andrew had been lobbying his brother to try and get permission to make his forever home at Wood Farm, due to its greater privacy.
Wood Farm has often been used by a quiet retreat by members of the Royal family, away from the formalities of Sandringham House.
It was also the retirement home of Andrew's late father Prince Philip from when he stepped down from public duties in 2017 until he moved to Windsor during the Covid pandemic in March 2020.
Wood Farm is surrounded by fields used by the estate for grazing sheep and growing organic crops, giving the former prince plenty of opportunity to go on long walks to come to terms with his new life.
A number of acclaimed gastro pubs, such as the 14th century Rose and Crown at Snettisham and the King's Head at Great Bircham, are only a short drive away. Both have been used in the past by Prince William and Kate.
