Eddie Redmayne's Spanish villa from Day Of The Jackal is in Croatia

It's the stunning Andalusian villa where Eddie Redmayne's Jackal leads a double life with his Spanish wife and son.

Lined with olive trees, its sun-drenched terrace appears to boast glittering views of the Gulf of Cadiz, with an infinity pool blending into the azure sea below.

But while viewers of Sky's smash-hit drama The Day Of The Jackal might have swooned over the exotic location, the truth is that it isn't in Spain at all.

In fact, the house lies some 1,500 miles further east, perched on a hillside overlooking the coast of Croatia – and those breathtaking sea views are of the idyllic Kvarner Bay in the Adriatic.

The glamorous Villas Rosa dei Venti - or 'wind rose' - was a labour of love for owner Mauricio Batelic, who began the project in 2012 and spent nine years building the villa complex - which includes two separate houses - to reflect traditional Mediterranean architecture.

A spokesman proudly told The Mail on Sunday that the property was 'selected from many potential sites' by The Day of the Jackal production team to feature as the assassin's enviable home.

And fans will be delighted to learn they too can stay in the property The Jackal shares with wife Nuria, played by Spanish actress Ursula Corbero.

For a up to £1,600 a night in high season - or £13,000-a-week - the villas are available on Airbnb.

The Airbnb listing, where all reviews are five-star, boasts: 'Here you can spend a vacation to remember, with the luxury and technology of today, combined with the passion, warmth, and tradition of the past.' And it's not the first time the property has been used for filming. The villas were used as the setting for the Netherlands version of romantic reality show The Bachelor in 2021.

The local coastal resort town, Rabac, just over a mile away, has some of the Istria region's finest beaches. Other scenes were filmed elsewhere in the country, including capital Zagreb, and the island of Pag which Redmayne said felt 'like we were on the Moon'.

Croatia's landscapes have also lately featured in Game of Thrones and Doctor Who.
