Charlotte Church has stopped wearing deodorant and 'generally stinks'

Charlotte Church has said she 'generally stinks' and won't wear deodorant while addressing why she has her boobs out 'most of the time'.

The Traitors star and singer, 39, made the admission during an appearance on the Walking The Dog podcast.

As she took a stroll with host Emily Dean, Charlotte was left surprised when Emily complimented her on how 'lovely' she smelt.

'Do I? That’s surprising. I never smell nice,' she replied.

Charlotte continued: 'I don’t wear any deodorant or anything, so I generally stink. I don’t shave anymore. I don’t shave anything.

'I stopped shaving probably about 18 months ago, maybe even longer than that, maybe two years. And I stopped wearing deodorant….I just started thinking do you know what? Like this underarm area, there’s so many receptors there, lymph and all sorts of stuff going on there, I’m just not sure about sticking all of this chemically stuff in these pores, cos your skin is so….you know, it’s the largest organ in the body.

'Everything we put on our skin goes into our bloodstream.'

Charlotte, who runs her own holistic retreat, added: 'Each to their own. Do you know what I mean? Crack on and have a lovely time and do whatever feels good - dye it, shave it, whatever - but for me I’m just like "Nah!"

'I sort of love it, I love the contradiction of it. So like I love wearing dresses, beautiful dresses, with my really hairy legs and heels and nails. It’s so confusing for people.'

During her appearance, Charlotte also spoke about why she has her 'boobs out for the majority of time' as she dazzles fans in her plunging dresses, admitting she finds it liberating and feels 'much sexier'.

She said: 'I’ve got my boobs out for the majority of the time, because I think they’re a great litmus test…or "Titmus Test" as my husband says! Cos it really separates out people who are…yeah, it separates out the pervs immediately.

'So you can immediately go "okay, well you’re really struggling with looking at my face!" But it also separates out those who are like maybe deeply conservative or deeply religious.

'It’s not necessarily that that’s a bad thing or I need to mark out those people, nothing like that at all, but for me it helps with my discernment to have my cleavage out regular. Do you know what, it’s so liberating. Also in a way it makes me feel….it’s just even more….I feel much sexier.'

In October, Daily Mail revealed how Charlotte had turned to witchcraft by 'offering ancient wisdom and elemental magic' at her retreat.

Charlotte Church turns to witchcraft as new holistic lifestyle is costing her a HUGE amount

The retreat already offers a wide range of alternative spiritual awakenings throughout the year which Charlotte runs personally.

While Charlotte has put her music career on the back burner to make the retreat a success, it's not been all plain sailing, as it's made a loss every year.

According to the most recent set of accounts submitted to Companies House, The Dreaming Ltd is now in £811,626 debt - up from £707,550 in 2024.

Charlotte is clearly determined to make it a success, as the accounts reveal that two firms connected to her music and media have pumped in £610,149.

Charlotte Church Ltd is owed £516,563 and Chick Flicks Ltd £93,586.

After a hugely successful singing career where it's reckoned she raked in up to £25million, Charlotte has plenty of reserves despite saying last year that she'd blown a lot of it claiming that she's 'not a millionaire anymore', having to downsize from a mansion to a semi-detached.

Yet latest accounts for Charlotte Church Ltd reveal it has a very healthy £3,099,848 in reserves.

Charlotte's venture is aided by volunteers who she provides accommodation and food for in return for them helping at the retreat.

The singer shares children Ruby, 18, Dexter, 16, with her ex Gavin Henson and Frida, four, with husband Jonathan Powell.
