New STALKER 2 Mod Adds Drivable Motorboats to the Game
by John Papadopoulos · DSOGamingModder ‘stantravels’ has released a new cool mod for STALKER 2 that adds drivable motorboats to the game, called Aqua Exitus. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
Aqua Exitus adds three motorboats to different waterways. Each boat has its own look. You can find them in any order and explore the Zone from a new view. You can also ask Lens for help once you finish the prologue and open the exits from the Lesser Zone.
The boats have working controls. You can speed up, slow down, brake, reverse, and steer. They also have momentum, so they do not stop at once. They can hit shores and other objects. The engine and propeller move as you drive, and the boat leaves a wake in the water.
You can board and leave each boat with new animations. The mod checks that it is safe to get out. You can also stand up while on board to use your gear. The boat rocks when still, and its nose lifts a bit at full speed. Engine sounds change as you speed up or slow down. You can pick Normal or Quiet engine sounds from the F10 menu.
The boats also have worn paint, rust, and dirt. Water effects have more ripples and foam, which shift to the other end when you reverse.
It’s also worth noting that Aqua Exitus adds a small story with new talks, notes, and a boat hunt. Once you find a boat, its marker stays on your map and compass. Your boat’s spot and your progress are saved when you quit and return.
All text is in 18 game languages. The talks with Lens have English and Ukrainian voice acting, with lip moves that match the lines. A new guide and PDA notes teach you how to drive.
Moreover, the F10 menu lets you turn off or restore the radiation zones at the map’s edge. This lets you explore more of the world. The mod also fixes issues with boat use and saves.
The modder plans to add fuel, boat upgrades, water hazards, and more ways to travel. The boat physics are still simple, and some small visual bugs may occur. Also, make sure to back up your saves before use. And finally, the mod turns off game achievements.
You can go ahead and download the mod from this link.
Speaking of STALKER 2, you may also want to try these other mods for it. In theory, they should be compatible with its latest version. A really cool mod is this one, which adds a Parkour-like climbing system to the game. Then we have this mod that allows you to fast-travel anywhere on the map.
There is also a mod that aims to deliver the ultimate freeplay experience. The mod basically removes the main quest and keeps every side quest intact. Players will now start with basic gear and a single goal: survive. There is no story to follow here. Players will start in the zone, and they will forge their own path.
You can also download a mod that will remove the inventory carry/weight limit. I’m not a fan of this last mod, but hey, some of you may like it. There is also this mod that adds realistic death animations. Another cool mod is this one, which adds a cool Blood VFX System to the game. And then we have the Cinematic FX Mod that will make your firefights feel more like those of F.E.A.R. or Crysis.
Have fun!
