New HD Texture Pack for Crimson Desert Overhauls All Trees

by · DSOGaming

Modder ‘KhainOne’ has released a new HD Texture Pack for Crimson Desert. This new pack improves the bark textures for all trees, making them look sharper, cleaner, and more detailed.

KhainOne has used AI tools to upscale the original textures. As such, the modded textures retain the art style of the original ones. At the same time, they look sharper and more detailed. So, if you own a high-end GPU with lots of VRAM, you should definitely try them.

This is the third HD Texture Pack for Crimson Desert. The first pack covered the outdoor stone ground textures in Hernand. Then, the second pack overhauled all the textures that were in the game’s “Folder 0000.”

These packs are compatible with each other. After all, they cover completely different things. So, for the best visual results, you should use all three of them.

You can go ahead and download the Better Trees Mod from this link. To install it, you’ll also need the CD Texture Overlay Builder.

Once you have downloaded CD Texture Overlay Builder, you’ll have to run CD_Texture_Overlay_Builder.exe. Select or auto-detect your Crimson Desert game folder. Then, select the DDS texture folder. Afterward, select the correct source type. You’ll then have to click Build / Apply Overlay. And that’s it.

For owners of high-end GPUs, I also suggest using this mod. This mod aims to reduce the LOD pop-in issues that plagued the game. It also adds grass shadows, making scenes look more realistic and less flat.

Another cool mod is the character creator mod. This lets you build your own character by using the barber. It includes 98 face presets and 159 hairstyles for females. It also includes almost all the males. Plus, it supports the human, Orc, and Goblin races. You can download it from here.

In theory, all of these mods should be compatible with the latest version of Crimson Desert. Pearl Abyss has released a lot of patches for it. So, I’m not 100% certain whether they work with version 1.12.01. I haven’t heard any compatibility issues, so I guess they are compatible with it.

Finally, you can find some screenshots below. These screenshots showcase the new modded bark textures. So, if you are not in the mood of downloading the pack, you can at least view them as they can give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from it.

Stay tuned for more!
