The First Nintendo Switch 2 Emulator for PC Has Just Been Released
by John Papadopoulos · DSOGamingEden-NX2 appears to be the first Nintendo Switch 2 emulator for PC. Eden was one of the best emulators for the first Nintendo Switch. Earlier today, Takoroka added early support for the new console. This means PC users can now try to run some Nintendo Switch 2 games.
So, how did this happen? A few days ago, the Nintendo Switch 2 was hacked and jailbroken. From what I know, someone used AI to help hack the console. Now, just one week later, we have the first Nintendo Switch 2 emulator.
I believe these two events are linked. Until now, there were no known Nintendo Switch 2 emulators in the works. Then, out of nowhere, we got a new version of Eden that can run games made for the new console. This is quite a big step for PC gamers.
Do note that Eden-NX2 is still in an early test stage. It is not ready to run every Nintendo Switch 2 game. You should not expect smooth play, high frame rates, or high image quality. There is still a lot of work to do before this emulator is ready for use.
From what I have seen, Eden-NX2 can launch and run Mario Kart World. However, the game has a lot of stutters. Its speed is also far from ideal. You may also see some odd images or other visual bugs while playing.
Donkey Kong: Bananza is another game that can start and run in Eden-NX2. Sadly, it also has poor speed. You cannot reach 60 FPS at this time. So, you should not expect a smooth game just yet.
Still, this is a very good start. The fact that both games can already boot and run is quite amazing. The emulator is still new, so we can expect more work and updates in the days ahead. It will be worth keeping an eye on its progress.
You can download Eden-NX2 from this link. Please note that we will not allow links to Nintendo Switch 2 game ROM files. Do not post them in the comments, as they will be removed.
Enjoy, and stay tuned for more!
