GTA 4 RTX Remix Path Tracing V1.4.2 Available for Download
by John Papadopoulos · DSOGamingModder ‘xoxor4d’ has released version 1.4.2 of his amazing RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod for Grand Theft Auto 4. So, let’s see what this new version brings to the table.
Version 1.4.2 appears to be a small update. As such, you should temper your expectations. It does not seem to bring a lot of new PBR materials. It also does not pack high-resolution textures, and it does not overhaul the 3D models.
Instead, this new update adds an option to always draw the lowest LOD map sections (entire map). This setting is disabled by default. However, those who want to can enable it. Do note, though, that this comes with a big performance hit.
Moreover, Update 1.4.2 fixes the sun/moon that could get stuck. It also updates the remix runtime to include the very latest changes. This will fix some issues that could occur when using DLSS Frame Gen with over 2X.
And that’s it. As I said, this update is small. Still, if you want to experience GTA 4 with Path Tracing, it’s best to use the latest version of the mod.
You can go ahead and download it from this link.
If you want to play some other older games with Path Tracing, you can try the following mods. For instance, you can find Path Tracing mods for Black Mesa, Star Wars Republic Commando, Need for Speed Carbon, NFS: Underground, and Manhunt. You can also find more for BioShock, NFS: Underground 2, Star Wars Jedi Outcast, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines.
And that’s not all. Modders have released demos for their Path Tracing Mods for Deus Ex, Mirror’s Edge, and Tomb Raider. And then we have the RTX Remix Mods for Painkiller and Left 4 Dead 2. Unreal Tournament 2004 and Unreal Gold have also gotten the path-traced treatment. Half-Life fans can also play the game with Full Ray Tracing/Path Tracing. A demo has also come out for a Path Tracing Mod for Duke Nukem 3D. Then we have the beta release of the Dark Souls 2 Path Tracing Mod. Lastly, you can download these amazing Path Tracing Mods for Doom, Doom 2, Quake, GTA 4, and Serious Sam. These last ones are among the best Path Tracing Mods you can find. So, don’t skip them.
Stay tuned for more!
