Take a Look at the Ludicrous PC Graphics Settings of Gears of War: E-Day
by John Papadopoulos · DSOGamingGears of War: E-Day is one of the most anticipated games of 2026. From what we’ve heard, the game will use Unreal Engine 5.8 and will support many of the new features introduced in UE5. Not only that, but it will have settings that will go beyond Ultra Settings.
These “higher than Ultra” settings will be called Ludicrous. And, at the end of the article, you can find two videos that will give you a glimpse of them. These videos are from the game’s Closed Beta phase that Microsoft held earlier this month.
The first video comes from VGC and shows the game running on an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090. Sadly, though, VGC did not access the in-game settings, and it did not enable a framerate counter.
The second video comes from YouTube’s ‘SpacesFPS’. SpacesFPS played the Closed Beta on an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti. Moreover, the YouTuber had enabled the framerate counter, giving us a glimpse at the performance of those settings at 4K.
So, at 4K on Ludicrous Settings with DLSS 4 Ultra Performance, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti was pushing 40FPS. At one point, the YouTuber selected Dynamic DLSS, and the game initially ran at Native 4K. At that point, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti was pushing 12FPS.
It’s pretty obvious that the Ludicrous Settings are only meant for those who own a high-end GPU. As such, I don’t recommend using them on anything other than an NVIDIA RTX 4090 or an RTX 5090, especially when gaming at 4K.
The Beta phase for those who have pre-ordered Gears of War: E-Day will begin tomorrow. Then, on August 13th, Microsoft will open the beta to all players, allowing them to play and test it.
Microsoft plans to release Gears of War: E-Day on October 6. You can also find its official PC system requirements here.
In case you’re wondering, I’ll try the Open Beta on August 13, and I’ll publish an article about the game’s performance on the NVIDIA RTX 5090. Do not expect a full PC Performance Analysis, though. That will come once the game launches in October.
Stay tuned for more!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
