DERELIKT Is a New Sci-Fi Horror FPS With Faithful PS1 Graphics, Inspired by Alien Resurrection, Doom 3, and System Shock 2

Hyperstrange has announced the new retro FPS from Visuwyg, DERELIKT. DERELIKT is a narrative FPS that is inspired by Alien Resurrection, Doom 3, and System Shock 2, with a dash of Lovecraftian cosmic horror. This FPS will come out on PC in 2026, and you can find below its first gameplay trailer.

In this retro FPS, players will explore the dark hallways of Von Neuman Outpost, an expansive research station grafted onto an anomalous, derelict asteroid orbiting Saturn. Players will meet over a dozen unique NPCs, manage their inventory, solve old-school puzzles, and fight against eldritch abominations.

DERELIKT features a faithful and beautiful recreation of PS1 aesthetics, including affine texture warping, dynamic subdivision, lovingly hand-painted vertex color, and full motion CGI cutscenes.

The devs claim that DERELIKT is the most faithful and beautiful recreation of PS1 aesthetics on the market. And, they are actually right. As soon as I watched the trailer, I immediately thought of Alien Resurrection.

DERELIKT will feature 12 levels in total. It will also have a subtle “Metroidvania” progression system. Moreover, its puzzles will be in the style of classics like Silent Hill or Resident Evil.

Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!
