The Witcher 3 Remastered October 1st Patch Released & Detailed
by John Papadopoulos · DSOGamingCD Projekt RED has released the October 1st update for The Witcher 3 Remastered and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this new patch brings to the table.
The October 1st patch is a small update. According to the devs, it fixes an issue where DLSS was unavailable in the Xbox Play Anywhere version of the game on PC.
Moreover, the new update improves the lighting in many areas. It also fixes some interiors that looked too dark. Plus, it makes other changes to help keep the console version on par with the PC version.
It’s worth noting that the devs are preparing a hotfix for PC to address the reported issue with saving the game. For those who did not know, some users are unable to save the game. When they try to save, they get a “Not Enough Storage Space Available” error. As said, the devs will release a hotfix to resolve it. Sadly, though, we don’t have an ETA for when this hotfix will be released.
The Witcher 3 Remastered introduced Path Tracing on PC. As I wrote in my previous article, though, Path Tracing feels like a mixed bag in TW3. At times, it can look way better than Ray Tracing. But at other times, Ray Tracing looks more appealing than Path Tracing.
I’ve also tested DLSS 5 in The Witcher 3 Remastered. So, expect a comparison article in the coming days. In that article, I will compare the Ray Tracing version with DLSS 5 against the Path Tracing version. Can DLSS 5 close the gap between Ray Tracing and Path Tracing?
Anyway, as always, Steam and GOG Galaxy will download this update the next time you launch their clients. Below, you can also find its full patch notes.
