Unofficial Native PC Version of Ace Combat 6 Released

by · DSOGaming

Ace Combat fans, get ready for a treat. An unofficial native PC version of Ace Combat 6 has just been released. Ace Combat 6 was originally released only on Xbox 360 and PS3. But now, PC gamers can finally play it without using an emulator.

Going into more detail, this native PC port of Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation is built on the ReXGlue SDK. The port takes the game’s Xbox 360 PowerPC code and converts it to x86-64 code for modern PCs. For now, the game’s graphics still use the included ReXGlue/Xenia graphics system.

The PC version currently supports 60 FPS. It also includes high-quality terrain. The terrain is now rendered at the full resolution found on the original game disc. This is twice the resolution used on the console. The port also removes the cracks and seams that can appear across mountains.

What’s also impressive is that the PC version has keyboard and mouse controls similar to Ace Combat 7. It supports mouse steering and fully remappable controls. Changes can also be loaded from a config file without restarting the game. Controllers work right away, too. The port even supports a virtual gamepad when no physical controller is connected.

Finally, we get ultrawide and resolution scaling support. You can render the game at 2X (1440p) or 3X (2160p) and beyond for a much sharper image.

If you haven’t played Ace Combat 6, I strongly suggest trying it. Right now, this is the best way to experience it on any platform. So, go ahead and download it from here.

To run it, you’ll need a copy of the Xbox 360 version. To be more precise, you’ll need the US version. The European and Japanese versions are not supported.

In case you are into projects like these, you can also download the unofficial PC port of Super Mario 64Mario Kart 64Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TimeMajora’s MaskPerfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter.

And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4Sonic UnleashedGoldenEye 007The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessSilent Hill, and Super Smash Bros 64. Last month, we also shared the unofficial PC ports of Gears of War 2 and Syphon Filter. And, just yesterday, we shared the PC port of Diddy Kong Racing.

Have fun!
