Karlie Kloss Gives Rare Comments About Her & Her Husband Joshua Kushner's Ties To Trump Family -- And Reveals Whether She's Met Donald

Karlie Kloss wants everyone to know she is not like her in-laws!

Perezcious readers know that the 33-year-old supermodel has been married to Joshua Kushner since 2018. He is the brother of Jared Kushner, AKA Ivanka Trump‘s husband. Over the years, the Victoria’s Secret Angel has faced scrutiny over her connection to the Trump family. Many assume she must share the same values and views as Donald Trump and his crew. However, Karlie is making it clear where she stands.

The former Project Runway host made a rare comment about her and her husband’s ties to the Trumps in an interview with Bloomberg Originals on Wednesday, saying:

“I know who I am. I know the values that guide my life and the issues that I care about. So, you know, I haven’t lost sight of who I am, but also, it’s my husband’s family.”

Karlie then insisted once again that she is a Democrat. And given that, you would think family dinners with the Kushners would be awkward. Karlie insisted she’s able to handle herself, though:

“Well, we’re sitting here in St. Louis, which is a blue dot in a red state. Since as long as I can remember, I’ve always been exposed to a lot of different political points of view, and I think that trained me for my life. You know, I’m a Democrat. It’s possible to have relationships with people who you politically don’t align with. And I think this country has always been a place for dialogue. We have to be able to talk to each other.”

But Karlie hasn’t spoken to one person about their differences — Trump himself. She insisted she has “never met President Trump” despite being his daughter’s sister-in-law. And she likely won’t anytime soon since she’s been outspoken against her in-laws!

In 2021, she called out her family members after Donald’s supporters stormed the Capitol in Washington, D.C. Karlie tweeted that “accepting the results of a legitimate democratic election is patriotic [and] refusing to do so and inciting violence is anti-American,” and a social media user told her to “tell” her family that instead. To which she replied:

“I’ve tried.”

Karlie also advocates for abortion rights and access to clinics, which we all know Trump is against. When asked if she feels any pressure to use her voice given her familial connections, she replied:

“Listen, that’s life. I made the choice a long time ago to one, be with the person that I love despite any complications that came with it. Two, not to lose sight of who I am in that, and three, to just continue to stand up for and fight for the things that I care about.”
