NiMet predicts three-day rainy, sunny skies nationwide

NiMet’s weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja forecast sunny skies over the northern region on Monday with a few patches of clouds anticipated over the entire region.
The agency envisaged isolated thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rains expected over parts of Taraba State during the afternoon or evening hours.
It said: “For North central region, cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine is anticipated over the region throughout the forecast period.
“For southern region, cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine is expected over the region with chances of thunderstorms accompanied by light rains over parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.
“Later during the day, there are prospects of thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rains over parts of Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Lagos, Edo, Delta, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.”
NiMet predicted sunny skies with a few patches of clouds over the entire northern region on Tuesday with prospects of Isolated thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rains expected over parts of Taraba State later in the day.
According to Nimet, a cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine is anticipated over the central region throughout the forecast period.
The agency anticipated a cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine over the southern region.
It forecast prospects of afternoon or evening thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rains over parts of Ondo, Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Imo, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo and Delta States.

NiMet predicted sunny skies on Wednesday with a few patches of clouds over the entire northern region throughout the forecast period.
According to the agency, a cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine is anticipated over the North central region throughout the forecast period.
It forecast a cloudy atmosphere in the southern region with intervals of sunshine over the region with prospects of thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rains over parts of Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Rivers States later in the day.
It added: “Strong winds may precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur, public should take adequate precaution and ensure that loose objects are fastened to avoid collision.
“Driving under heavy rain should be avoided. Disconnect electrical appliances from electrical sockets. Stay away from tall trees to avoid impact from falling branches and broken trees.
“Airline operators are advised to get airport-specific weather reports (flight documentation) from NiMet for effective planning in their operations.”
According to NiMet, temperatures are expected to remain high causing thermal discomfort while the public is advised to wear breathable clothing, stay in a well-ventilated environment and stay hydrated.
