Athens hosts the second Gastrosophy Fest on Sunday 4 October at the Faliro Tae Kwon Do indoor arena, a bigger site than last year, with organisers expecting about 4,000 visitors. The event is powered by Protergia.
The theme is “The Value of Nourishment and Its Journey.” The programme treats food as a route, not a plate: land and sea, producers, taste, hospitality and what ends up on the table next.
The day mixes keynote talks and open panels with food and wine, live cooking, networking, an Open Food Party and a concert. One ticket covers the floor.
Sessions look at what “nourishment” means when production, climate and public taste are all shifting; how Greek cooking can move without dropping its ingredients and its people; and where a chef’s responsibility starts and stops, from producer to guest. A sea panel links fishing and sustainability to what Greek kitchens will still be able to serve.
Athens is the other subject. Organisers argue the city’s chefs, producers and hotels are building a food identity that now sits on the visitor map, not only on the local one.
