The platform for Greece’s expanded Relocation Program opens today, offering €10,000 to up to 1,000 households that permanently move to remote areas.
The scheme aims to address demographic decline and urban concentration. Applications remain open until 31 December 2028 or until the 1,000-household limit is reached.
Eligible areas include municipalities in Evros, Drama, Florina, Kilkis, Serres, Pella, Kastoria, Kozani, Grevena, Ioannina and Thesprotia. Greek residents of other EU countries may also apply if they can prove prior residence abroad. Recent university graduates with ties to the relevant regional unit are likewise eligible.
Applicants cannot come from Epirus, Western Macedonia, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, or the Northern and Southern Aegean, as these are already considered remote.
There are no income or employment requirements. A tax return for the previous three years is needed, and minor children must complete compulsory education. The residence may be owned or rented.
Applications are submitted online at https://relocation.vouchers.gov.gr using Taxis codes. Required documents include AMKA, ID or passport, Greek IBAN and proof of residence or tax filings where applicable.
After document checks and municipal verification of the move, €5,000 is paid as an advance. The remaining €5,000 is released after one year of confirmed residence.
