Breaking: Apple removes Telegram from App Store worldwide
by Bill Giannopoulos · Greek City TimesApple has removed the messaging app Telegram from its App Store globally.
As of early 4 August 2026, searches for Telegram return no results across Apple’s App Store in all tested regions. Official App Store pages for the app are returning 404 errors. Existing installations on users’ devices continue to function, but new downloads are no longer possible through the App Store.
Neither Apple nor Telegram has issued an official statement explaining the removal. It is not yet clear whether the action is permanent, temporary, or the result of a policy review or technical issue.
A similar temporary removal occurred in 2018, when Apple briefly pulled Telegram over concerns about illegal content circulating in some channels. The app was later reinstated after changes were made.
Telegram-linked digital assets, including GRAM (formerly TON), fell following the news.
The development is being closely watched, as Telegram is one of the world’s most widely used messaging platforms.
And its back.
