Greece Promotes Southern Aegean Islands to German Market

Greece promoted its tourism offering and the islands of the Southern Aegean to the German market during a special event in Munich organised by the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT) Germany Office.

Representatives of the regional tourism industry, travel journalists and executives from Greek airline SKY expressattended the event, which focused on strengthening Greece’s presence in one of its key international tourism markets.

Greek Consul General in Munich Konstantinos Kodellas addressed the event, highlighting the importance of strengthening tourism and cultural ties between Greece and Germany.

Stavroula Skaltsi, head of the EOT Germany-Austria Office, thanked participants for their continued contribution to promoting Greece in the German market. She also presented the renewed Visit Greece website, visitgreece.gr, to the German market for the first time.

Representing the South Aegean Region, Deputy Regional Governor for Communications and External Relations Ioannis Margaritis and Tourism Adviser Savvas Pettas presented the region’s islands to the guests.

They highlighted the islands’ natural beauty, authentic hospitality and the wide range of experiences available to German travellers across the Southern Aegean.

Representatives of SKY express also presented the airline’s expanding flight programme, focusing on its international connections and domestic network, which provides access to destinations throughout Greece.

The event concluded with Greek cuisine and networking opportunities, allowing representatives of Greek destinations, tourism professionals and journalists to exchange views and strengthen industry contacts.
