Three Czech journalists explored the archaeological and historic sites, natural landscapes, local production and culinary identity of Central Greece during a press trip to the region from September 19 to 23, 2026.

The Hellenic National Tourism Organisation (EOT) Office in Poland and the Czech Republic organised the press trip in cooperation with the Region of Central Greece and Greek airline SKY express. The delegation included Barbora Slavíková Literová, editor-in-chief of the travel magazine Koktejl; Jana Chmelíková, a journalist with news website Magazin Aktualne.cz; and Taťána Kynčlová, travel editor at Novinky.cz. SKY express sales representative Ester Majid accompanied the delegation.

The trip aimed to raise awareness of Central Greece and highlight the region’s tourism advantages in the Czech market as part of its focus on sustainable tourism development.

During their stay, the Czech journalists explored Livadeia and Kamena Vourla, as well as Thermopylae and the Thermopylae Historical Information Centre. They also visited the archaeological site and museum of Delphi, one of Greece’s most important ancient sites.

The programme also included a boat tour of Chalkida and the Lichadonisia islands, a visit to a local honey production facility, a traditional weaving workshop in Delphi and a spa centre. The journalists also sampled local sweets and other regional products.

The journalists are expected to publish features about their experiences in their respective media outlets between October 2026 and May 2027.
