  • Reclaims property worth Rs. 10.75 crore at Sathagalli, Kyathamaranahalli

Mysuru: Continuing its drive against encroachments and illegal constructions, the Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) demolished structures at two locations here this morning and reclaimed land valued at Rs. 10.75 crore.

The eviction drives were carried out on the directions of MDA in-Charge Commissioner B.R. Mahesh.

At Sathagalli village, the MDA reclaimed 30 guntas of land in Survey No. 93/2, valued at around Rs. 10 crore. The land had been illegally occupied and divided into plots to form an unauthorised layout.

In another operation, officials cleared an encroachment at EWS Block in Kyathamaranahalli. The property, Site No. 1548, is a commercial site measuring 6 metres by 9 metres and facing Dr. Rajkumar Road.

Valued at around Rs. 75 lakh, it had been illegally occupied by a driving school identified as ‘United Driving School’ and converted into a shed for selling second-hand cars.

The eviction drives initially faced resistance and protests from those attempting to prevent the clearance. MDA officials sought the assistance of the local Police, following which the structures were removed and the authority took back possession of both properties.

The MDA has reiterated that action against illegal layouts, encroachments and unauthorised commercial use of its properties will continue across its jurisdiction.

Superintending Engineer K.R. Mahesh led the eviction operation, which was attended by Assistant Executive Engineer Byrappaji, Assistant Engineer Meghana and other officials.
