Egyptian Red Crescent intensifies winter aid delivery to Gaza with 93rd ‘Zad Al-Ezza’ Convoy
by Egypt Today staff · EgyptTodayCAIRO – 14 December 2025: In light of the severe weather conditions affecting the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian Red Crescent has intensified its winter aid delivery efforts by launching the 93rd “Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy.
Early this morning, the convoy departed carrying several trucks loaded with urgent humanitarian assistance bound for Gaza. This initiative is part of the Egyptian Red Crescent’s ongoing role as the national mechanism responsible for coordinating and delivering aid to the Gaza Strip.
Given the harsh weather conditions, the convoy includes essential winter supplies aimed at alleviating the suffering of Gaza’s residents. These include approximately 12,900 blankets, 40,700 items of winter clothing, and more than 19,000 tents to shelter those affected. The 93rd “Zad Al-Ezza” convoy transported around 10,500 tons of urgent humanitarian aid, comprising approximately 4,800 tons of food baskets, over 4,200 tons of critical medical supplies, and more than 1,500 tons of petroleum products.
It is worth noting that the “Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy, launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, delivered thousands of tons of aid, including food supplies, flour, infant formula, medical supplies and medicines, personal hygiene items, and fuel.
Since the beginning of the crisis, the Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a constant presence at the border, as the Rafah crossing has not been fully closed from the Egyptian side. The organization has remained fully operational across its logistical centers, continuing its efforts to deliver assistance that has exceeded half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid, supported by the work of more than 35,000 volunteers.
Red Crescent Society Spokesperson in Gaza, Raed Al-Nams, stated on Sunday that more than half of the Gaza Strip’s population is living in dilapidated tents amid ongoing storms. He added that heavy rainfall and flooding have destroyed more than 20,000 tents.
Several casualties have been reported as a result of extreme cold and the collapse of homes, he continued, while approximately 1.5 million displaced people are without shelter or access to even the most basic necessities.
“Our teams are facing significant challenges in providing services due to severe resource shortages. Despite these challenges, we are responding to all distress calls and have ensured the geographical distribution of ambulances to support all affected areas,” he said.
