Amazon shoppers say 'incredible' mattress topper made their bed 'feel like new'

The Silentnight Ultimate Deep Sleep 1000 Mattress Topper is being snapped up by shoppers as an easy way to add extra comfort and cosiness without having to splash out on a new mattress. Priced between £39.99 for a single and £62.99 for a super king, the 10cm topper is designed with internal walls to ensure the filling stays in shape and is "always plump".
Machine washable and hypoallergenic with easy fit straps, Silentnight promises that the mattress topper will "rejuvenate your mattress" with its "cloud-like cushioned comfort". And it has earned the seal of approval from the majority of Amazon shoppers, with an average rating of 4.4 out of five stars based on more than 22,000 reviews.
One impressed customer praised: "I had a slight dip in my mattress, didn't want to shell out hundreds for a new one so I bought this. It's like having a top of the range mattress now. Completely improved my sleep and incredibly comfy. Great support and fits really easy and secure. Would recommend to everyone."
Another shopper agreed that it made their "old and lumpy mattress feel like new", adding in a five-star review: "I needed a new mattress but this topper has made such a difference. Fits the bed perfectly, it's so soft and supports my back, enabling me to get a good night's sleep. It was a good price too - much cheaper than a new mattress!"
A third person raved: "It's just like sleeping on a cloud. Very comfortable indeed. This mattress topper has transformed my bed and my sleeping habits. I now enjoy going to bed and sleeping soundly for a change. I also wake up without backache. I just have to re-learn how to actually get out of the bed - it's so comfortable that I don't want to leave."

Overall, 85% of Amazon shoppers gave the mattress topper a rating of either four or the full five stars. However, not everyone was impressed by it, with some reviewers saying they found it made "no difference" to their comfort levels or sleep quality.
"I settled down to sleep hoping the mattress topper would help with my arthritis, but when I got back into bed after waking I noticed it had flattened and become more like a duvet," one person fed back. "I feel this topper needs a lot more padding in order to give your body more support during the night."
Amazon's offer on the mattress topper beats Argos prices by up to £19. The Silentnight website does offer most sizes cheaper, with a king size available for £50 compared to Amazon's £57.99, but says it can take four to six weeks for delivery.
