One in/One out – Manchester United signing defender would lead to exit

Noussair Mazraoui has been linked with a Manchester United exit but it may not happen without an incoming at Old Trafford.

Sport Witness have covered that the Moroccan is seen as a major target by AC Milan. With Pervis Estupinan on his way to Aston Villa, Mazraoui could replace the Ecuadorian and reunite with Ruben Amorim in Italy.

The Portuguese manager is believed to be a big fan of Mazraoui’s versatility. He needs a player of his type in the squad, especially as he can fill in at left wing-back when Estupinan departs.

Attempts to sign the Morocco international are now intensifying.

Incoming can lead to departure

Sportmediaset are confident about Milan’s interest in Mazraoui. No talks have been held with Manchester United but the Rossoneri have now spoken to the defender’s agent Rafaela Pimenta.

There are signs Manchester United could be readying his departure.

The outlet report United are trying to sign Nottingham Forest’s Neco Williams, who is just as versatile as Mazraoui.

Quotidiano Sportivo offer more clarity, statinf that Mazraoui is ‘available’ for a transfer. Milan believe €15m deal could be done, even if Manchester United’s demands are yet to be ascertained.

Our take: Figures are not realistic

Manchester United are under no pressure to sell Mazraoui right now. He did well at the World Cup and his versatility makes him a very useful squad member.

The 28-year-old’s agent Pimenta likely has a good relationship with both the clubs. She represents both Santiago Gimenez and Matthijs De Ligt, and has contacts in place.

Despite that, she can’t conjure a deal at a price which is unrealistic. Mazraoui is clearly worth more than €15m, and Milan will have to go higher.
