Manchester United move in for 19-year-old fullback – Can snatch signing from Newcastle United

Salinas is a product of the La Liga side’s youth system and made his way into the first team in 2024. He’s played 37 matches, of which 34 were from last season. The left-back was a key part of the Racing squad that secured promotion to the top flight.
His performances have seen several clubs take notice, including Manchester United and Newcastle United.
On June 3rd, Sport Witness relayed news of the Magpies’ interest in the 19-year-old. The latest claims in the UK have reported on the Old Trafford club looking at him.

Barcelona have been aggressively pursuing the Spain U19 international but are refusing to meet Racing Santander’s demand.
Atlético Madrid, Newcastle United and FC Porto are also in the mix, and these three clubs have already expressed their interest in the fullback.
The newspaper makes it clear it’s their own information about Manchester United. They have joined the race, after identifying Jorge Salinas as a cheaper alternative to Lewis Hall.
Affordable clause
Last summer, the fullback signed a new contract until 2029, and Transfermarkt now value him at €8m. It was €300k in June 2025 and there’s been a drastic raise over the last 12 months.
Jorge Mendes represents the Racing Santander youngster and Michael Carrick’s side have good ties with the super-agent.
AS claims Jorge Salinas had an €8m release clause valid until June 30th and it has now doubled to €16m. This is clearly affordable for the Premier League sides.
Taking the financial power of Manchester United and Newcastle United into account, the newspaper claims ‘triggering his release clause shouldn’t be a problem’ for them.
Racing Santander are waiting for one or more suitors to activate his release clause.
