Aston Villa not giving up on Brazilian gem – Already considering second offer

Aston Villa have not abandoned their pursuit of Allan, with fresh reports from Brazil claiming the Premier League club are already considering a second approach despite Palmeiras’ firm rejection of their opening bid.

Earlier this week, Aston Villa saw a €30m (£26m) package for the 19-year-old turned down, with Palmeiras making it clear they had no intention of selling one of their brightest young talents.

New information from Brazil now suggests that stance has not discouraged Unai Emery’s side, although any realistic move may now have to wait until the January transfer window.

Journalists Bruno Andrade and André Hernan discussed the situation on ESPN Brazil, with both indicating Aston Villa remain keen on the youngster.

According to Bruno Andrade, the Premier League club have not walked away from the deal.

“The information I’ve received is that Aston Villa haven’t given up,” he said. “They’re preparing, or at least studying, a new offer in the hope of convincing Palmeiras. Allan remains on Aston Villa’s radar, they’re still interested, and they’re preparing a second approach.”

Palmeiras still refusing to negotiate

André Hernan said he has heard exactly the same from people who work closely with Allan on a daily basis.

“I’ve heard the same thing from people who work with Allan. Aston Villa could increase the offer and make another approach to Palmeiras.”

However, Hernan made it equally clear he does not believe another bid would change Palmeiras’ position.

“Everyone tells me they’re ‘studying’ an offer. But they’re going to become experts from studying it so much, because Palmeiras simply aren’t going to sell.”

He also dismissed the idea that the Brazilian club have a minimum asking price in mind.

“Does Palmeiras have a magic number? No. Palmeiras are operating with one idea only: not selling him.”

That lines up with the information from earlier this week, when we learned Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira and president Leila Pereira both see Allan as a cornerstone of the current project and expect his value to increase further over the coming years.

January could change the picture

While Hernan insisted Palmeiras have no intention of doing business now, he did leave one notable caveat.

“The end of the year is a different story. After their season is over, we’ll see.”

That suggests the Brazilian club’s stance is tied to the current campaign, with Palmeiras still competing for major honours and determined to keep their strongest squad together.

For Aston Villa, that means a second bid in the current window appears unlikely to succeed if Palmeiras continue to refuse discussions altogether.

The more realistic scenario may be for Emery’s side to maintain their interest over the coming months before reassessing the situation once the Brazilian season has concluded and the January transfer window opens.

For now, though, the message coming from Brazil remains consistent. Aston Villa have not given up on Allan, but Palmeiras have no interest in naming a price or negotiating while the season is still ongoing.
