“Getting out of hand” – Manchester United youth product appears to be being bullied

by · Sport Witness

Manchester United youth product Alvaro Carreras, now at Real Madrid, appears to be suffering from bullying at Real Madrid.

Mundo Deportivo report on the subject and how Real Madrid teammates were forced to intervene in an incident with Antonio Rudiger.

Manchester United to Real Madrid

Alvaro Carreras joined Real Madrid in a €50m deal last summer after impressing at Benfica. The Manchester United youth product had been on loan with the Portuguese club since 2024.

He established himself at the club, leading them to make the move permanent in 2024. A year later, Real Madrid came calling to sign the full-back. He was a product of their own youth before moving to Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old has been a regular this season, but it seems he has not been making friends behind the scenes.

Mundo, relaying information from El Chiringuito, report that Rudiger confronted the full-back in an incident two weeks ago. The German also slapped the youngster in a dressing room incident back in February. Carreras has even acknowledged that, stating it was an “isolated incident”.

Rudiger incidents

However, El Chiringuito report that a similar incident occurred just 15 days ago.

“Two weeks ago, not in the locker room, but on the training pitch, Rüdiger confronted Carreras again. His teammates had to intervene to separate them,” explained journalist Marcos Benito.

“They even told him to apologise, that his behaviour towards the 23-year-old was getting out of hand. His teammates had to step in to make the German stop.

“I don’t know what Rüdiger’s relationship with Carreras is (or) what he’s done to him. I don’t know if there’s some misunderstanding between them, if they don’t get along, but it wasn’t just the February incident with the aggression; two weeks ago, he confronted him again.”

The incidents hint at a growing issue for the former Manchester United man, who appears to be suffering from bullying at Rudiger’s hands.

It’s also another sign of the problems at Real Madrid, where player power now appears to be out of hand. Perhaps that is why reports are linking them with a move for figures such as Jose Mourinho, a manager who would certainly ruffle feathers.
