Watch out for Celtic in signing race – Wilfried Nancy makes specific request

by · Sport Witness

Celtic have rekindled their interest in Napoli’s Giuseppe Ambrosino in their efforts to please Wilfried Nancy.

That’s according to Il Mattino, relayed by CalcioNapoli24. They cover the latest on Celtic, who had looked at the striker in the summer.

Back in July, we covered claims from Italy that Celtic were in ongoing talks with his agent.

The Italian has been limited to 92 minutes from three matches this season. The possibility of getting regular minutes will become more complicated once Romelu Lukaku returns from injury.

Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca joined the Naples club on loan last summer. He’s expressed his desire to continue. If that happens, Il Mattino state Ambrosino will leave Antonio Conte’s side on loan in the winter market.

Several clubs have made moves to try and sign the Italian next month. This includes Pisa and Serie B side Sampdoria.

These clubs have to watch out for Celtic as Nancy has asked for a new striker in January. Whether the Scottish club can please their manager remains to be seen. At this moment in time, there are no concrete negotiations for his exit.

Il Mattino state this case would be resolved after the 15th. There’s no explanation provided, but it looks like Celtic or another club keen on signing Ambrosino will have to wait for close to a month.
