Player finds Manchester United more attractive than Newcastle United – Not keen on Magpies

by · Sport Witness

Manchester United and Newcastle United have to spend big to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha this summer.

The midfielder’s performances have caught the attention of a few English clubs, including the Red Devils and Newcastle United.

Last week, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany that Manchester United’s head of scouting Christopher Vivell is leading their pursuit. He’s in close contact with the player’s entourage.

The latest claims from England state the Magpies have joined Michael Carrick’s side and Manchester City in chasing the 25-year-old.

The former have identified him as a candidate to replace Bruno Guimarães. Eddie Howe’s side could make a serious move for Nmecha if the Brazilian were to leave.

Newcastle United behind Manchester United

Monday’s edition of Bild relays claims made in the UK and provides Felix Nmecha’s stance on Newcastle United, Manchester United and Manchester City.

The Magpies don’t have the best chance of signing the Germany international. He finds a move to Old Trafford or Manchester City more attractive than the Tyneside club. Bild don’t explain why he prefers these two clubs over Eddie Howe’s side.

Both the Manchester clubs can offer Champions League football next season while their Premier League rivals have failed to qualify for Europe.

In addition to these clubs, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are monitoring the 25-year-old.

What Dortmund are thinking

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund, led by CEO Lars Ricken and sporting director Ole Book, are calm amid the growing interest.

In March, the player signed a new contract until 2030, and Transfermarkt now value him at €50m.

The Bundesliga side are asking for €120m to sanction his sale. Bild claim the fee could rise further, if he were to extend his impressive performances at the World Cup.

Despite claims of Manchester United and Newcastle United’s interest, BVB believe Nmecha will be at the club beyond this window.
