Wife could be cause of Manchester United contact with Jorge Mendes client – Player considering his options

Karim Adeyemi’s wife could be the reason behind the reported recent contact with Manchester United.

That’s at least according to BILD. They cover the Borussia Dortmund star today, and explain his wife has a big say on where his future lies.

According to them, Adeyemi is currently pushing for a new deal with Dortmund that would include a release clause in it. Dortmund want to avoid this, but with his current deal expiring in 2027, there is growing concern about his future.

They could settle for a contract that includes an €80m fee, hoping that would convince Adeyemi to sign and ease Dortmund’s concerns. They player, though, has other considerations.

According to the newspaper, he’s also aware of his wife’s wishes. Loredana, a rapper, would prefer the German international to find his next home in ‘a major European city’. This is something Adeyemi is considering carefully.

And, because of this, there’s movement on the market around him. A report back in November indicated that Manchester United had spoken to his new agent, Jorge Mendes. He maintains excellent contacts in Manchester, and at Old Trafford. Inter Milan have also enquired.

Milan or Manchester would, presumably, fit the brief of ‘major European city’ that Loredana has set out. Whether Manchester United are seriously interested, though, remains to be seen.

They will surely have taken note of Adeyemi’s behaviour in recent months, notably his charge for an illegal weapon possession. Indeed, that would make getting a work permit very hard as well.
