Manchester United express ‘strong interest’ in signing – Agent connection key

by · Sport Witness

Manchester United have to prioritise strengthening their midfield, especially after losing Casemiro as a free agent.

The Premier League side have made progress in their pursuit of Atalanta’s Éderson and are chasing West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes.

Manchester United are also looking at other midfielders, including Real Madrid’s Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Two months ago, we relayed news the Red Devils and Liverpool are tempting the 26-year-old.

On Monday, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that Manchester United, the Reds and Chelsea made contact for Tchouaméni. Real Madrid value him at around €60m.

Encouragement for Manchester United

Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari picks up on that and covers the latest. He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that Manchester United have ‘expressed strong interest’ in Aurélien Tchouaméni with his agents.

Longari claims the France international would prefer to continue with the La Liga side. His wish clashes with that of the club as Real Madrid are open to considering selling him this summer.

José Mourinho has identified Chelsea star Enzo Fernández as the main midfield target. Los Blancos have to sell the 26-year-old or Eduardo Camavinga to raise funds and make room to sign the Argentine.

This should come as an encouragement for Manchester United, who are keen on signing the former AS Monaco man. It’s now down to the Red Devils to convince him to leave Real Madrid.

Longari makes no mention of a fee while the Spanish media reported yesterday that he’s valued at €60m. This may make the deal affordable for Michael Carrick’s side.

Agent connection could favour Manchester United

Gianluigi Longari has likely obtained the information about Manchester United and Real Madrid’s stances from Aurélien Tchouaméni’s representatives, who also represent AS Roma’s Manu Koné.

French agency Excellent Sport Nation, headed by Jonathan Kebe and Jeremy Ramalingam, represent the midfielder and Koné.

Their client list also includes Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo. His arrival last summer will have helped the Red Devils create a connection with the agents, which could favour them in the potential deal for Tchouaméni.

The Frenchman’s contract at Real Madrid lasts until 2028, and Transfermarkt value him at €70m.
