Kagurabachi Anime Airs in 2027

After much speculation, Cypic, CyberAgent, and Shueisha revealed there will be an anime adaptation of the Takeru Hokazono manga series Kagurabachi. It will begin airing in April 2027, and the show will appear worldwide. Ahead of its launch, there will even be an episode 1 world tour. A first trailer also appeared, and the official site is open in both Japanese and English.

The initial announcement included details about the show. Cygames’ Cypic is the studio behind it. It last worked on Umamusume: Cinderella Gray, in case you’re curious about how the developer’s works look. Tetsuya Takeuchi will be the director and Keigo Sasaki will be the character designer. 

Only one member of the cast has been revealed so far. That’s lead character Chihiro Rokuhira. He’ll be played by Taihi Kimura. While he’s a relative newcomer, people might best recognize him as Takumi Sumino from The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy.

In terms of the episode tour, that will apparently be at anime conventions worldwide ahead of the show’s debut. When those presentations happen, attendees will get to see 20 minutes of the first episode.

It’s unknown how much of the story will cover. However, a substantial number of volumes appeared in Japan already. Since its run started in September 2023, 10 appeared. It seems likely that the Vs. Sojo and Rakuzaichi arcs could both be covered. The series is so popular that merchandise like a Nendoroid of Chihiro appeared.

The Kagurabachi manga is running worldwide, with Viz Media handling it outside Japan, and the anime adaptation will begin its run in April 2027.
