Fields of Mistria Console Ports Release Addressed Ahead of PC 1.0

by · Siliconera

NPC Studio shared a detailed 1.0 Fields of Mistria FAQs that goes over the possibility of console ports of the game and how relationships with romance options will be affected by the update. The developer also noted the Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish localizations will be added, existing saves will be compatible, and all new achievements will already be “earned” once the patch goes through and won’t be bugged or need to be earned again.

The portion of the FAQs discussing possible console ports of Fields of Mistria doesn’t say they will never happen. It just notes that the team at NPC Studio has different priorities at the time of this update. The official statement is, “We are currently focused on bringing the game to its 1.0 release on PC, and will evaluate potential ports at a future time. Please stay tuned.” This means there is a chance we could eventually see the game on systems like the Switch, Switch 2, or PS5.

As for how Fields of Mistria romance option relationships will change when marriage arrives, the team noted that existing bonds won’t be “erased.” Instead, the person you choose to marry will become your spouse and anyone else you were dating will turn into your best friend instead. The person you do end up with could be a character your avatar has children with. However, this will not be an automatic event and a player can decide if they and their chosen partner will start a family or not.

These updates follow an engine migration and patches dealing with things like a UI softlock. When that happened, it affected compatibility with existing mods and save files created when those were in effect.

Fields of Mistria will leave early access for the PC on August 5, 2026 and console ports consideration will be determined in the future after the 1.0 launch.
