Star Wars Outlaws has reportedly only sold one million copies since its release in August.

According to Insider Gaming, “sources close to the game” have confirmed that it has only sold one million copies since it launched over a month ago. It did have several issues at launch, and even required fans who had pre-ordered and gotten early access to restart their save files, so some gamers may be waiting until the issues are ironed out to purchase it.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage has sold five million units three months after it launched, Insider Gaming claims, so this result from Star Wars Outlaws is much lower. Ubisoft recently delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows to February 14, 2025, and said that Outlaws‘ “initial sales proved softer than expected.

“In response to player feedback, Ubisoft’s development teams are currently fully mobilised to swiftly implement a series of updates to polish and improve the player experience in order to engage a large audience during the holiday season to position Star Wars Outlaws as a strong long-term performer.”

Pushing back Assassins Creed Shadows could help give Star Wars Outlaws a longer tail, as now it’s the big Ubisoft game available to buy over the holidays. It’s also coming to Steam November 21, which will open it up to a whole new group of players.

The developer seems to have learned from the performance of Outlaws, and has said that while Shadows is “feature complete,” it is delaying it so that developers have more time to polish the game..
