  • More iPhone Fold rumors have emerged
  • The displays are apparently entering mass production
  • We're expecting a minimal crease

All the evidence so far points to a 2026 launch for the long-awaited iPhone Fold, and some fresh leaks over the last couple of days have perhaps revealed a couple of crucial bits of information about this Apple handset.

First, well-known tipster Instant Digital says that the Samsung-made displays for the foldable iPhone are about to enter the mass production stage, a sure sign that a device launch is coming in the next few months.

Second, another veteran leaker Fixed Focus Digital has gone on record as saying that the crease on the folding iPhone is going to be flatter and less visible than a lot of the best foldables currently on the market.

The source says (via Google Translate) that the "industry perspective" is that "the first foldable iPhone screen may have a flatness exceeding that of many currently available domestically produced foldable screen models".

Creasing up

We know from previous leaks that Apple has been keen to get the crease on the iPhone Fold as invisible as possible. Indeed, this attention to detail may be part of the reason why it's taken Apple so long to launch a device in this particular category.

With that in mind, we can expect to see a crease almost completely disappearing on the foldable iPhone. Meanwhile, the Oppo Find N6 foldable is launching in the coming days and is bringing a near-invisible crease with it as well.

Earlier this week, a report from South Korean outlet The Bell (via 9to5Mac) suggested that the folding iPhone will come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage. The starting price for the 256GB is predicted to be $1,999 in the US (roughly £1,510 / AU$2,860).
