I print a substantial number of documents each month, which often results in running out of ink at inconvenient times. To avoid frequent trips to the store for new ink, I decided to try HP’s All-In Plan. This subscription service from HP combines a printer, ink, and support into one monthly fee, providing a convenient solution for my printing needs.
After using the service for a few months, I’ve drawn some conclusions that could be helpful for others considering this option.
What is HP's All-In Plan?
HP’s All-In-One plan simplifies home printing through a subscription model, allowing you to essentially “rent” a printer and receive regular ink deliveries. This approach ensures consistent ink replenishment and printer maintenance.

What do you get?
There are three key components to the All-In Plan, including:
- Printer: The plan includes an HP printer, with different tiers offering various models like the HP Envy and HP OfficeJet Pro.
- Ink: It incorporates HP Instant Ink, automatically delivering ink when your printer is low.
- Support: It provides 24/7 support and potential next-business-day printer replacement.
Pricing and tiers
The HP All-In Plan features a tiered pricing structure designed to accommodate various HP printer models and cater to a wide range of printing needs. This ensures users can find a plan that fits their lifestyle and usage patterns.
The entry-level option includes the HP Envy printer, with monthly plans starting at approximately $6.99. This tier is perfect for basic home printing needs, offering reliable performance for occasional users. It’s particularly suitable for families or individuals who print documents, homework, or the occasional photo, making it a cost-effective choice for light use.
Moving up the tiers, the HP Envy Inspire is priced at around $8.99 monthly. This model is better suited for users with frequent printing demands, such as students or professionals who print presentations, reports, and high-quality photos. The Envy Inspire combines enhanced photo printing capabilities with versatile features, ensuring vibrant, sharp images perfect for invitations, scrapbooks, or portfolios.
