ASUS Announces TUF Gaming A2 SSD Enclosure
by James Cusworth · eTeknixToday, ASUS announced the TUF Gaming A2 SSD enclosure, a durable and high-speed storage solution designed for gamers. With USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2 connectivity, the A2 boasts transfer speeds up to 20 Gbps, double that of its predecessor. Built to withstand the rigours of on-the-go use, it features IP68 water and dust resistance and meets U.S. MIL-STD-810H drop-test standards.
Exceptional SSD performance
TUF Gaming A2 doubles the data transfer speeds of its predecessor, TUF Gaming A1, with USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 connectivity delivering up to 20 Gbps of bandwidth. Even though the latest AAA titles often exceed 100 GB in size, it takes just 90 seconds to transfer an entire game from the SSD to a console such as ROG Ally, or to any other popular gaming platform. When it comes to installing or removing the M.2 SSD, the innovative Q-Latch makes it easy, without requiring specific tools. The latch design employs a simple locking mechanism to secure the drive, so there’s no need for screws. Additionally, TUF Gaming A2 features both PCIe NVMe and SATA interfaces and can accommodate various 2242/2260/2280 SSD form factors while providing up to 4 TB of storage capacity.
Rugged and ready for anything
TUF Gaming A2 is subjected to a battery of tests including drops from a height of 1.22 meters. It meets stringent U.S. MIL-STD-810H standards and offers IP68 water- and dust-resistance. The high-grade silicone-rubber exterior of TUF Gaming A2 absorbs shocks and is able to withstand extreme temperatures, helping ensure consistent performance in any climate. It guards against UV rays, rain, and dust, and even protects data from static and electrical disturbances. Plus, the ribbed design makes it easy to grip when on the go. Lastly, the highly-conductive internal thermal pad has a K-value of 3, allowing it to effectively dissipate the heat generated by the SSD to prevent overheating and ensure long-term stability.
Play and create across multiple platforms
TUF Gaming A2 works seamlessly with Windows 11, macOS, mobile devices, and the latest game consoles like ROG Ally, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
