AMD Dominates List of Best-Selling Processors on Amazon
by Solomon Thompson · eTeknixRecent market research shows that AMD has been steadily gaining a larger share of the consumer PC processor market. Amazon‘s current rankings in the U.S. reflect this trend in action: the 10 best-selling CPUs on the platform are all AMD.
AMD’s Unstoppable Momentum in the CPU Market
At the time of writing, even the 11 best-selling processors on Amazon ( thanks Tom’s Hardware) are from AMD. However, it’s important to note that positions near the bottom of the rankings can change frequently.
- Ryzen 5 5600X (6c+12t)
- Ryzen 7 5700X (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 7 9800X3D (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 5 7600X (6c+12t)
- Ryzen 7 7800X3D (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 9 5900X (12c+24t)
- Ryzen 7 5700X3D (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 7 7700X (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 7 5800X (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 5 7600 (6c+12t)
Interestingly, the 11th position is also occupied by an AMD Ryzen, the 5500. Meanwhile, the first Intel processor on the list, the Core i5-13600KF, only appears in the 12th spot.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D Stands Out Among Ryzen 9000 Series
While Amazon’s best-seller list highlights AMD’s dominance, it also underscores the lukewarm reception of the Ryzen 9000 series. For example, among AMD’s most recent releases, only the Ryzen 7 9800X3D secures a top spot, ranking third. The next Ryzen 9000 entry, the Ryzen 9 9900X, does not appear until the 13th position, where it trails an Intel CPU.
Rumored Strategy Behind Ryzen 9000 X3D Launch
Speculation suggests AMD may have accelerated the launch of the Ryzen 9000 X3D processors to offset the underwhelming performance of the standard Ryzen 9000 lineup. Furthermore, the inclusion of 3D V-Cache technology has been a significant draw for customers, as evidenced by its presence in two additional spots on the bestseller list.
