In a bid to ensure a fair and transparent recruitment process, mobile internet services in Assam will be suspended for eight hours on Sunday. This marks the second such suspension in September, following concerns about potential malpractices during the written examination for Grade III posts.

According to an official release, mobile internet, mobile data, and mobile Wi-Fi connectivity will be disabled from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The secretary of the State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-III Posts stated, “All are requested to bear with the inconvenience in the interest of holding a free, fair, and transparent recruitment examination, thereby securing the future of the youths of the state.”

The first phase of the written examination for Grade III posts was conducted on September 15, when mobile internet services were suspended for three-and-a-half hours. The upcoming written tests for the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) will be conducted in two sessions: the first from 9 AM to 12 noon, and the second from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

A total of 734,080 candidates are eligible to participate in the examinations, which will take place across the state. The decision to suspend internet services aims to mitigate any unfair advantages and uphold the integrity of the recruitment process.
